MARISSA FAYER’S QUEST TO BRING HEALTH EQUITY TO WOMEN WORLDWIDE
It all started in a bar… in Costa Rica.
That’s where Marissa Fayer, a medical engineer, learned that women were dying of breast cancer at an alarming rate in the country’s remote regions.
“I knew I had to do something. I knew I was in a position to do something. I knew I was fortunate enough to have access to high-tech medical equipment.”
Marissa just had to figure out how she could save these women’s lives.
It was something that just kept gnawing at her until, one day, she couldn’t stand the gnawing any longer.
She started to put all the “I knews” together to see if, and how, she could save women’s lives, not just in Costa Rica, but around the world.
She insists, “This is not my story. It’s the story of the women who make it happen, and it’s the story of the mothers whose daughters can lead a better life.”
